The president has called for transparency and fairness in the Bayelsa and Kogi station governorship elections, which are due to hold this Saturday, November 16.
In a brief statement by the presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, on Thursday, all citizens and law enforcement should behave in an orderly and lawful manner while those contesting should follow due process in contesting the eventual results.
I call for all citizens in Bayelsa and Kogi States to exercise their right in a peaceful and lawful manner and also in line.

According to “Mr President”
All Law enforcement personnels must ensure that all citizens are allowed to vote without harassment and intimidation and also any attempt to steal or hijack ballots must be stopped using all legal means available.
According to “Mr President” inall democratic elections, there are always bound winners and losers and the elections in Bayelsa and Kogi state is not exempted. All candidates from different parties should be ready to accept the outcomes of the election in good faith and wherever they are dissatisfied, they should follow the due process of the law in seeking redress. There must not be a resort to self-help.
